Top 5 Tech

Top 5 Tech Tools for Elementary (for library & classrooms):

Padlet: I have had the opportunity to use this app more while working on a class project and I have absolutely fallen in love with it! It's a great "bulletin board" to collect a number of different online resources for a topic, and I can see using it to list the books we've read this year and linking them to an online read alouds for students to go back to if they want. A Padlet can be collaborative too, so your students can add a post to the class board.

Corgi: This tool is a bit niche, but I found it while looking at Assistive Technology through the CAST website. Corgi is an online graphic organizer that walks students through filling out their graphic organizer, identifying key terms and answering the questions posed by the teacher. The student can then produce a PDF or export their materials to a Google Slides presentation. This app is probably best for upper elementary and older.

Virtual Field Trips: I was so happy to find this site of free virtual field trips that I'm including this in my top 5. Virtual Field Trips includes videos, printable worksheets, resources, quizzes and standards. You can view the videos by curriculum topic, by grade, or by geographical location. This resource is not free, but the cost for 1 year is really reasonable so I decided to include it.

Venngage's Timeline Maker: This one is very niche tool since it makes....timelines. But it looked really cool, and for upper elementary to middle & high school students who need to make timelines, this is a really cool and fun online resource. I like the online component of it because it's easily editable versus pen and paper with lots of erasing and rewriting if an event needs to be added in.

Canva: I feel like Canva is everywhere, but it really is a great tool. It has a lot of templates to help you do whatever you need to do, posters, social media posts, presentations, etc. I'm adding it to this list because I used the video maker to make my book trailer post for I Survived the Eruption of Mount St. Helens by Lauren Tarshis. It was fairly easy to figure out, even though there was a learning curve, and it was really fun. Your students will be able to make fun videos with a lot of fun graphics, sounds and text options.
